The George & Dragon is an award-winning pub saturated in fascinating history. It is impressive enough that Queen Elizabeth I allegedly stayed at the pub, let alone the Guy Fawkes rumours. Legend has it that The George & Dragon was where Fawkes hatched his infamous gunpowder plot and that it was also the place where he was captured after fleeing London when it failed.
